@Creative show time

Your reasoning is correct! Here’s a breakdown:

  • The question: The question states that it’s 6 pm Beijing time on the Spring Equinox, and it’s already dark enough to see stars at 38°N latitude. It asks which dialect the person yelling might be speaking, implying they are in a location where it’s already nighttime.

  • Spring Equinox: On the Spring Equinox, day and night are roughly equal all over the Earth.

  • Beijing Time and Longitude: Beijing is located at approximately 120°E longitude. Since it’s 6 pm in Beijing, locations at the same longitude would also be experiencing sunset.

  • Nighttime at 38°N: For it to be dark enough to see stars at 38°N latitude while it’s sunset at 120°E, you need to be significantly further east, where the sun has already set.

  • The Answer: Among the choices, only D. 西吧! (Korean) represents a location significantly east of 120°E where it would be nighttime at that time. Korea is located roughly between 125°E and 130°E.

Therefore, D is indeed the most likely answer. You’ve correctly used the information about the Spring Equinox, Beijing time, and latitude to deduce the correct location and corresponding dialect.
